Welcome to DC Counseling

I’m passionate about supporting women in unlocking their inner strength to create the life they were meant to live. In my practice, I specialize in working with people who have been victimized by narcissistic abuse within their relationship, family, religion, workplace, or community.

I believe you already have within you a deep well of resilience— but in these situations, it can be incredibly difficult to access that strength when we’ve been so broken down. I’ve had the privilege of working with many clients over the years to do just that, and they are living proof that it’s never too late to get free.

If you’re ready— or are even thinking about the possibility of what that freedom might like for you— let’s talk.

For Better Welness & Hope
It can feel like you don’t even recognize yourself anymore.
You start to doubt everything you think and feel, always questioning what’s “real” and what’s not. The person you once knew yourself to be is like a faded memory, almost out of reach. It can feel impossible to focus or to do things that came easily before, and the confusion is often overwhelming.
You don’t have to keep living like this.
When you’ve been in a bad situation for so long— whether it’s a toxic relationship, job, family, religious group, or other organization— it can feel like there’s no way out.And while it’s rarely as simple as “just leave”—it’s never too late to take your life back.
Therapy can help.
Being stuck in a toxic situation, especially with a person or people who are narcissistic or manipulative, makes you doubt everything. Working with a therapist who has a deep understanding of these dynamics can help you regain your sense of self and reignite your power to make the decisions that are right for YOU.
Why Online Therapy?

During the pandemic when everything moved online, many people discovered that doing online therapy (also called telehealth or virtual appointments) was just as effective and much more convenient.

By offering online counseling, I am able to work with clients throughout the whole state of Texas, rather than just people who can easily make the drive to my office. On top of saving travel time and gas, many clients find that they prefer doing therapy from a place that already feels familiar.

While some people like to utilize the new subscription-based therapy services, the downside of them is that, even if you’re lucky enough to find a good fit, your therapist could leave that organization at any time. Working with clients in my own private practice, I’m able to offer more stability in the therapeutic relationship, and assure that they have a specialist who understands their unique needs, rather than a generalist who tries to do everything.

Patient’s Saying
Counseling with Denise has allowed me the room to take a step back and examine the reality of the situation. It’s very easy to lose focus of reality when experiencing narcissistic abuse. Things that I have suppressed during the abuse to cope are being worked

Words alone cannot express how grateful I am for Denise. I had never been to counseling before and was terrified to seek help. In every one of our sessions though, she made me feel safe and comfortable. She always finds a way to help me process my trauma
